Loki and Sigyn in fandom is a big one. In the comics, it’s portrayed as appropriately toxic and abusive. But people in fandom who haven’t read the comics before 2010 who want a thinly veiled self-insert to love Loki like they do and to change him use her name and him to set up a done to death “good girl softens the bad boy” stories. And it’s yuck. Especially considering THIS is how they feel about each other in the comics:
He HATES this woman, and I think this is honestly a really good example of what any person wanting to change him with their “love” is going to end up being to him. Also I am entirely convinced he has no genuine interest in women, but that’s a topic for another day.

I… actually don’t know. Death in comics is cheap so I never really get too hung up on it. The phrasing of this one, does however, open things up to a slightly different interp. So….
I wish they killed off Loki instead of putting him through that convoluted reincarnation redemption mess.
Life would just be better if he’d stayed dead after Siege because having my favorite character dead is preferable to having him become whatever they turned him into.

WHERE in the Norse myths (on which the comics are based) did you see that Loki was abusive to Sigyn???
She stayed by his side, helped him in the worst situation, out of love. We don't know much about them together, but the little that we see? There is only proof of the deepest loving bond between those two.
And once again, we're not a big fandom. I WISH! We would have more fics, and our writers and artists would get more comments .
Lol. At the self-insert stuff. Do you even know Loki & Sigyn's story in the myths? Do you really believe anyone of us would want to isekai into that tragic mess? Losing your kids? Have their intestines turned into chains? Seeing the love of your life chained with a big snake above his head and only being able to catch some of its venom???
Who would want that?? I'M TERRIFIED OF SNAKES 😱😭😂
One last thing: we have read the comics, stop saying we have not. It's insulting and very condescending.
And of course we HATE what they did with Loki and Sigyn's relationship. Imagine loving a ship from mythology, or a book, and the writers screw up their adaptation so bad, turning the husband into a bully, and the wife into his helpless victim. Can you imagine how hurt and upset we all are?
So, with the multiverse, we just pretend Comics!Loki is just ONE variant, and that in the other timelines (the myths, ...) Loki & Sigyn have a good and loving relationship.
(Also, we have male!variants for Sigyn and the common theory among the logyn fans is that Mobius is one of them)

We honestly hate how they were portrayed in the comics too. We even hate it when others call Sigyn a self-insert/OC, although she is a goddess who has been around for centuries and is worshipped to this day by others.
It’s why we advocate to bring justice to their story and shed a different light on them that has been corrupted by depictions from Marvel Comics and general Pop Culture Media who don’t understand their story and only choose to see it in a negative way.

Everyone who portrays Sigyn, or writes a fanfiction, draws her or even all the nice loki rp partners I was honored to met don't believe that loki would ever treat her like this, and were trying with every little thing to give Sigyn justice what she deserves. Thanks marvel for nothing.
